Within the scope of audits by the Rhineland-Palatinate Court of Audit, Internal Auditing serves as the point of contact for both the Court and JGU employees. We coordinate the support provided to the auditors, handle responses to the Court of Audit\u2019s inquiries and audit communications, and monitor the completion of audit findings that are pending implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n<\/jgu-base-collapsiblearea>\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n\n

We review and process requests for access to information under the State of Rhineland-Palatinate Transparency Act in close coordination with the President\u2019s Office and the Chancellor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n\n

We maintain the records of processing activities required under Article 30 of the GDPR at JGU. These records document all data processing activities of personal data in compliance with legal requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n<\/jgu-base-collapsiblearea>\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n\n

JGU\u2019s Information Security Officer coordinates IT security activities in close coordination with the Chief Information Officer and the Data Center, particularly regarding the Baseline Protection in Information Security of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI-Grundschutz). The Officer advises JGU members on all questions and matters relating to digital and physical information security.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n\n

At the Internal Reporting Office<\/a>, we review reports, including those submitted anonymously, about information obtained during or prior to professional activities regarding potential violations by JGU members. We take follow-up measures and inform the whistleblowers of the final outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n\n

The Corruption Prevention Officer<\/a> offers training sessions, including for closed groups at JGU, and raises awareness through internal events. The Officer investigates reports and, if necessary, initiates further steps in consultation with the Executive University Board.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n\n

In taking on new tasks or modifying existing ones, Organizational Development supports the analysis and implementation of the developed measures. We see ourselves as an internal service and advisory unit. The direct involvement of all parties involved in addressing organizational issues is crucial for the feasibility of the agreed-upon measures and is a prerequisite for shared and sustainable learning within the organization. One key method here is process modeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We work closely with Digitalization in the introduction of new system supports, and in far-reaching change processes with Human Resources Development.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-tabsitem>\n\n\n \n\n

Our audits, conducted under the audit plan or as special audits, examine processes with regard to legality, compliance with regulations, cost-effectiveness, economic efficiency, and appropriateness. The organizational structure, process organization, and internal information, control, and risk management systems, which are important instruments for ensuring compliance with these principles, are included in the reviews. To fulfill their duties, Internal Audit\u2019s auditors have the right to unrestricted access to information. They are obligated to maintain confidentiality regarding all matters that come to their attention during audit activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audit findings are critically discussed with the employees of the area under audit, and possible changes and implementation timeframes are developed together. Follow-up activities monitor the implementation of changes after the audit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We audit JGU\u2019s special-purpose disbursing agencies for compliance with regulations. These audits cover the cash balance, accounting, and authorization to conduct cash transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
