We support researchers at all career stages in their search for suitable funding opportunities, arrange start-up funding, support your application, and advise on research data management. We provide support in drafting contracts for research collaborations and take care of the legal protection of your employee invention. We accompany start-up ideas on their way to implementation. We coordinate various knowledge transfer formats as well as university participation in the Mainz Science Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department hosts the offices of JGU\u2019s central graduate student scholarship institutions and Excellence Councils. We oversee the profile-building process as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate Research Initiative and coordinate the activities for JGU\u2019s application to the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Research Services (FT1) supports and advises you in the search for suitable funding opportunities for your research project and assists you in all phases of the application process. You would like to share and utilize your research results or enter into an exchange with society? Are you planning a joint project with an institution from a non-academic sector or a business start-up? Knowledge and Technology Transfer (FT2) will support you and your plans. Technology Transfer<\/a> provides active support for collaboration projects with companies and other partners outside the scientific community as well as for the exploitation of scientific results that are eligible for protection. FT2\u2019s Startup Center<\/a> provides support for prospective founders. We also coordinate and arrange various formats of knowledge transfer<\/a> and science communication for researchers at all career levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JGU supports and trains academics in early stages of their careers by offering a wide range of funding and continuing education programs as well as tailored advice for pursuing career goals within and beyond academia. A large number of graduate institutions and structured doctoral programs \u2013 soon to be united under the umbrella of the Gutenberg Academy<\/a> \u2013 offer doctoral candidates a stimulating environment, a comprehensive training and supervision concept, and career-enhancing networking opportunities. Doctoral candidates outside structured doctoral programs also benefit from a broad spectrum of training, funding, and mentoring opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

JGU supports the independence of young researchers with funding for their first projects, networking activities, or the establishment of their own junior research group. Advising and support in acquiring external third-party funds round off the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the Rhine-Main Universities alliance, JGU researchers can participate in selected programs offered by the partner universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
